The State unit president of the Republican Party of India (A) Mogol Yomso on Friday announced the launch of the party in Arunachal Pradesh. Addressing reporters at the Arunachal Press Club in Itanagar, Yomso said that the
RPI (A) would be made a full-fledged party in the State within two months with its State committee, district, block, village and booth level presidents, youth and women wing, and farmers’ cell.
“The party will field candidates in around 50 constituencies and also a Lok Sabha candidate,” he said. Yomso was appointed as the State president by RPI (A) national president Ramdas Athawale, also the Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment. He informed that RPI (A) will focus on social and political change in the State.
“The candidates for the party will be selected on the basis of his/her capability instead of how much he/she can contribute to the party fund, as is the current culture among political parties,” Yomso said. He said that due to such culture many talented leaders do not get the opportunity to serve the people.
