The Guwahati City District Congress Committee and the Mandal Congress on Thursday staged sit-in-demonstration in Guwahati demanding immediate repair of the dilapidated roads in the city.
The sit-in-demonstration, which was joined a large number of members of the Guwahati City District Congress Committee and the Mandal Congress, was also participated by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and Rajya Sabha member Ripun Bora.
The Congress activists after the protest demonstration later submitted a memorandum to the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD-Roads) with a demand to take necessary measures for repairing the dilapidated roads in different parts of the city.
APCC president Ripun Bora, while informing about his participation in the protest demonstration in the city on Thursday, stated on his Twitter handle: “Participated in a demonstration organised by Guwahati City DCC & Mandal Congress demanding immediate repairing of the bad roads of Guwahati City area. Later on submitted a memorandum to the Chief Engineer PWD (Roads).”
The protest demonstration was also participated by senior spokesperson of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee Bobbeeta Sharma.
