Assam State Biodiversity Board (ASBB) Guwahati Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the govt job of Project Staff in 2026.
Name of post : Project Associate (Agrobiodiversity)
No. of posts : 1
Salary : Rs. 32,000/- per month
Age limit: 21-35 years
Qualification : M.Sc. Agriculture
Desirable :
i. At least minimum two years of experience working in the field of Biodiversity sector.
ii. Knowledge of identification of flora and fauna including agrobiodiversity
iii. Experience in carrying out surveys and data collection with little or no supervision.
iv. Experience in conducting training and capacity building workshops for communities.
v. Experience in conducting PRA meetings, trainings, and awareness activities
vi. Experience in photo and video documentation, designing and layout of publications, communication, awareness, and training material
vii. Willing to travel different districts of Assam, for collection of agrobiodiversity and associated TK data
viii. Experience of working with local communities of Assam.
ix. Adept at computer skills including Data entry, Media and Outreach, MS-Excel, Access, and related software applications
x. Proficient in English, Hindi and Assamese (oral and written) is mandatory
Job Roles :
i. Collect information and data on the agrobiodiversity including crop wild relatives of Assam from primary and secondary sources
ii. Preparation of checklist for agrobiodiversity, photographic and video etc.
iii. Conduct workshops and meetings with FPGs of Assam for sensitization of conserving indigenous seed diversity of Assam
iv. Collection & compilation of data on research projects/works undertake by institutions/organizations in the field of agrobiodiversity or similar fields
v. Assist in preparing Biodiversity Compendium of Assam
vi. Data entry in Digital PBR database
vii. Other related works of the Board as and when required.

Salary : Rs. 25,000/- per month
Age limit: 21-35 years
Qualification : M.Sc. Zoology or Wildlife Sciences
Desirable :
i. At least one year of experience working in the field of Biodiversity
ii. Knowledge of identification of flora and fauna
iii. Experience in carrying out surveys and data collection with little or no supervision
iv. Experience in conducting PRA meetings, trainings, and awareness activities
v. Experience in preparation of reports, communication, awareness, and training material
vi. Willing to travel different districts of Assam, for collecting data of wildlife of Assam.
vii. Experience in photo and video documentation and Media outreach
viii. Adept at computer skills inducing Data entry, MS-Excel, Access, and related software applications
ix. Proficient in English, Hindi and Assamese (oral and written) is mandatory
Job Roles :
i. Collect information and data on the floral and faunal diversity including microbes of Assam from primary and secondary sources
ii. Preparation of checklist for floral and faunal biodiversity including microbes, photographic documentation of Biodiversity of Assam etc.
iii. Collection & compilation of data on research projects/works undertake by institutions/organizations in the field of biotechnology /microbiology or similar fields
iv. Assist in preparing Biodiversity Compendium of Assam
v. Data entry in Digital PBR database
vi. Other related works of the Board as and when required.
