Guwahati: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Shillong in December to interact with students on educational issues and unemployment, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Vincent Pala said on Saturday.
Pala said he had formally requested Gandhi to hold a town hall-style meeting focusing on examination irregularities, logistical hurdles faced by Common University Entrance Test (CUET) candidates, school shutdowns, and the lack of job opportunities in the region.
Explaining why dates have not been finalized, Pala stated that Gandhi is currently away from New Delhi and will share his availability upon returning to the capital.
He added that official paperwork for the event has already been submitted.
If confirmed, the interaction will allow local students to raise their academic and employment concerns directly with the senior Congress leader.
