Imphal: A woman is feared dead following an alleged ambush by cadres of NSCN-IM in Manipur’s Kamjong district, while her husband reportedly sustained bullet injuries and two other civilians remain missing.
According to preliminary reports, four civilians travelling on two two-wheelers to Phaikoh in Manipur’s Kamjong district to purchase essential commodities were allegedly ambushed by NSCN-IM militants between Molnoi and Phaikoh.
One of the victims, identified as Hatneikim Haokip, is feared to have been killed in the incident, although Northeast Now could not independently confirm her death at the time of reporting. Her husband reportedly escaped with bullet injuries.
The whereabouts of the other two civilians remain unknown.
The incident reportedly occurred between 4 pm and 5 pm.
