Guwahati: The North Tripura District Administration and the Centre for Microfinance and Livelihood (CML), an initiative of Tata Trusts, signed a non-financial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday to promote sustainable rural development and improve the socio-economic conditions of rural households.

The MoU was signed by North Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Chandni Chandran on behalf of the district administration and CML Executive Director Madhabananda Ray at the District Magistrate and Collectorโ€™s Office in Dharmanagar.

The partnership will focus on integrated livelihood and non-livelihood interventions, covering springshed development, water security, fisheries, livestock, agriculture, allied activities and education.

The collaboration aims to promote sustainable water resource management, diversify income-generating opportunities and strengthen rural livelihoods to improve household incomes across North Tripura.

The initiative will also facilitate coordination between the district administration, CML and relevant government departments to ensure better implementation of development programmes and maximise their impact.

CML will work closely with the district administration, line departments and other stakeholders to support the implementation of the proposed initiatives.

The agreement is expected to strengthen institutional collaboration in areas such as inclusive development, sustainable resource management and livelihood generation, with a focus on improving the well-being of rural communities in the district.
