Guwahati: As many as 1,510 voters have been found ineligible for inclusion in Meghalayaโs final electoral roll following hearings conducted as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Chief Electoral Officer BDR Tiwari said on October 6.
Tiwari said nearly 20 lakh electors have been cleared for inclusion in the final electoral roll, which is scheduled to be published on October 26.
According to the CEO, the documents submitted by the 1,510 electors found ineligible did not meet the required criteria.
The draft electoral roll had 21,69,243 electors, of whom notices were issued to 6,51,735 people. Of these, 6,51,391 notices have been delivered, officials said.
Hearings have so far been completed in 6,13,512 cases, accounting for 94.14 per cent of the notices generated.
Tiwari said 19,96,297 electors have been marked for inclusion in the final electoral roll following the hearings conducted so far.
Of the notices issued during the revision exercise, 2,22,786 cases involved electors classified under the โNo Mappingโ category.
The final electoral roll is expected to be published on October 26, after the remaining stages of the SIR process are completed.
