Aizawl: The Mizoram government on Friday announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh each for Indian womenโ€™s hockey players Lalremsiami and Lalthantluangi for their contribution to the teamโ€™s gold medal-winning performance at the 2026 Asian Games.

The two Mizo players were part of the Indian womenโ€™s hockey team that won the gold medal at the Asian Games.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma congratulated the Indian team on its historic victory and particularly lauded Arjuna Awardee Lalremsiami for her contribution to the teamโ€™s success.

He said the gold medal won by Lalremsiami and Lalthantluangi marked a historic achievement for Mizoram, as they became the first Mizo sportspersons to win gold at the Asian Games.

“In recognition of their outstanding achievement, both players shall be awarded Rs 25 lakh each under the existing Mizoram Sports Incentives Cash Award Scheme,” the Chief Minister announced in a post on his official social media handle.

Lalduhoma also extended his best wishes to the two players and the Indian womenโ€™s hockey team for greater success in the years ahead.
