Haflong: Homestay operators across Assam can now register their properties online through the SewaSetu portal, following the launch of the new facility by Assam Tourism Minister Ajanta Neog at the state-level World Tourism Day celebration in Umrangso, Dima Hasao, on Sunday.
The initiative is intended to simplify the registration process for homestay owners while making accommodation options more accessible to tourists travelling across the state.
Launching the facility, Neog said the online system would allow homestay operators to offer online booking, improve the visibility of their properties among tourists and maintain an organised database of registered homestays.
The minister also emphasised the role of digital platforms in promoting tourism and improving services for visitors.
At the event, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa launched the official Dima Hasao Tourism website, visitdimahasao.com.
The website has been developed as a one-stop digital platform for tourists, offering information on tourist destinations, accommodation, homestays, restaurants, locations and routes to attractions across the district.
The platform will also provide weather updates, allowing visitors to plan their trips in advance. It further incorporates AI-based features designed to provide updated information on tourism facilities and destinations in Dima Hasao.
The programme was attended by Haflong MLA Rupali Langthasa, Assam Tourism Commissioner and Secretary Diganta Bora, Director of Tourism, senior government officials and other dignitaries.
