Dibrugarh: A joint site visit was conducted at Bogibeel in Assam’s Dibrugarh to assess the proposed site for the development of a Riverine Lighthouse, with the participation of officials from the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), the Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL), and the EPC contractor team.
The visit focused on a detailed assessment of the site and technical coordination among the participating agencies. Various key aspects concerning the planning and development of the proposed Riverine Lighthouse were reviewed during the visit.
The proposed facility is envisaged as an important component of navigational infrastructure in the region, aimed at improving navigation and enhancing safety for vessels operating along the inland waterways.
The joint inspection also provided an opportunity for the concerned agencies and the EPC contractor to coordinate on site-specific requirements and facilitate the smooth implementation of the project.
The initiative is expected to contribute to the strengthening of navigational facilities at Bogibeel and support safer and more efficient movement of vessels along the inland waterway network.
