Guwahati: Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam will reopen to tourists on October 2 for the 2026-27 tourism season, following the annual monsoon closure.
The reopening will be marked by a special programme at the park’s second main entrance on October 2, Ranger of the Bansbari Range Nitish Boro said.
Tourism activities will resume across the park after the monsoon period. Manas is a major wildlife tourism destination in Assam and attracts visitors to its biodiversity-rich habitats.
According to park authorities, the national park will remain open until further orders in accordance with the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and the Assam Wildlife (Protection) Rules, 1997.
The park’s different ranges will, however, continue to observe weekly closure days. The Bhuyanpara Range will remain closed on Thursdays, Bansbari on Tuesdays, Panbari on Fridays and Kuklung on Wednesdays.
Visitors will be able to access the park through its designated ranges from October 2, subject to applicable regulations and operational guidelines.
