Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH), Tezpur, Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Senior Residents (Psychiatry) on a purely contractual and temporary basis under the multi-centric research project “HEADS – Human-in-the-loop Evaluation of Assisted Depression Screening”, funded by the Wellcome Trust, United Kingdom in 2026.

Upper Age Limit : 45 years (relaxable for reserved categories as per Gol norms)
Essential Qualifications
(a) Academic: MBBS degree and a Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Psychiatry (MD / DNB/
Diploma in Psychological Medicine or equivalent Diploma in Psychiatry) from a
University/Institution recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) / National
Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
(b) Registration: Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State
Medical Council. The registration must be valid on the last date of receipt of applications and
at the time of joining.
(c) DNB candidates: Verification/equivalence of the DNB qualification by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences shall be as per the prevailing rules and notifications in force.

Desirable Qualifications
(a) Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Assamese and/or Bengali – this is considered
crucial for local patient recruitment, clinical interviewing and data collection at the Tezpur
site
(b) Experience in psychiatric interviewing and clinical research.
(c) Experience in the administration of structured and semi-structured instruments such as
QuickSCID-5 and PHQ-9.
(d) Experience in digital data collection, handling of audio recordings, and redaction/ deidentification of recorded data.
(e) Experience in clinical reasoning annotation and quality control of transcripts and translations.
