Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday said the state government was focusing on the implementation of investment proposals worth around Rs 1.31 lakh crore signed during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, with inter-departmental coordination and time-bound action being prioritised.

Saha said several projects had already been grounded and he had chaired a meeting to identify and address gaps in the implementation process at the earliest.

“In a small state like Tripura, MoUs worth Rs 1.31 lakh crore are a big development, and now we have to invest our whole focus in the grounding-related activities. Inter-departmental coordination is a must to convert all these proposals into reality,” he told reporters after attending a blood donation camp organised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said the Power and Revenue departments would have important roles in facilitating the projects, particularly in areas such as power connections and land availability and allocation.

“We are witnessing great enthusiasm among investors in multiple sectors,” Saha said, adding that he had instructed officials to explore ways to make products grown in Tripura more market-ready through value addition.

The Chief Minister said the progress of the investment proposals would be reviewed every month.

The comments came a day after Saha reviewed the status of the MoUs signed during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 at the state Secretariat.

According to the government, 458 MoUs were signed during the conclave. The Chief Minister said in the review meeting that the investment opportunities created through the proposals should be utilised quickly and converted into employment opportunities and economic development.

The government release said each investment proposal should have a fixed timeframe for implementation. Saha said the prime objective of increasing investment was to raise the Gross State Domestic Product, create employment opportunities and ensure socio-economic development.

During the meeting, Secretary to the Chief Minister-cum-Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department Kiran Gitte made a presentation on the status of the MoUs, coordination among departments, communication with investors and the roadmap for implementing the projects.

He also identified potential investment sectors and the scope for creating new opportunities by utilising the state’s resources and infrastructure.

Secretaries of various departments apprised the Chief Minister of the status of MoUs signed under their respective departments, communication with investors, proposals and Detailed Project Reports, and steps taken for implementation.

Saha asked officials to take prompt action on issues related to land, power connections and infrastructure. He also advised departments to designate nodal officers to maintain regular communication with investors and coordinate with other departments.

The Chief Minister also stressed the need to simplify administrative processes and establish a transparent and coordinated system for investors.

He said implementation would be the government’s main focus after the signing of the MoUs and directed departments to identify challenges faced by investors and find solutions within fixed timelines.

Chief Secretary J K Sinha stressed regular follow-ups and quick decision-making. He also called for regular communication with investors and speedy resolution of issues related to land acquisition, infrastructure and approvals.

Saha said Tripura had earlier signed MoUs worth Rs 15,000 crore at an investment summit for the North Eastern Region held in Delhi, of which projects worth Rs 8,000 crore had been grounded. He said the state was hopeful of attracting investments worth a substantial amount this time as well.
