Guwahati: The Supreme Court is set to hear on Monday a petition seeking an independent and time-bound CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Preliminary Examination.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana is expected to hear the plea filed by activist Harisharan Devgan through advocate Satyam Singh Rajput.
The petitioner has sought the transfer of the ongoing probe from the Jharkhand CID to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), arguing that the allegations require an independent examination.
According to the plea, the matter should not be treated merely as a dispute involving individual candidates or isolated cases of alleged malpractice.
The petition has also urged the court to direct authorities to immediately secure all physical and digital evidence linked to the examination to prevent any possible tampering or destruction of records.
