Guwahati: A Tezpur University assistant professor has been suspended and an FIR lodged after two research scholars allegedly accused her of directing them to prepare a B.Ed examination question paper.

According to university sources, the question paper for the B.Ed examination held on June 6 was prepared under the supervision of Antara Dey, assistant professor in the Department of Education. The two research scholars allegedly prepared the paper at her direction and sent it to her via WhatsApp.

Following the complaint, the university replaced the question paper and conducted the examination as scheduled.

The scholars subsequently approached the University Grants Commission (UGC), which sought an explanation from the university authorities.

Tezpur University Registrar later lodged an FIR at Borghat Police Outpost. A case, numbered 320/26, was registered at Tezpur Sadar Police Station on June 9, and Dey was placed under suspension.
