Guwahati: Domestic LPG consumers in Assam have been advised to complete their Aadhaar-based electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification by August 16 to continue receiving subsidised cooking gas cylinders.
Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have made the e-KYC process mandatory for all domestic LPG consumers as part of a nationwide verification drive aimed at streamlining beneficiary records and preventing misuse of government subsidies.
Consumers who do not complete the verification by the stipulated deadline risk losing access to subsidised LPG refills and may have to purchase cylinders at the higher non-subsidised or commercial price.
LPG distributors across Assam have urged consumers to complete the process as early as possible to avoid any disruption in subsidy benefits or delays in future refills.
The verification can be completed by visiting the authorised LPG distributor with Aadhaar details and consumer information. Consumers may also complete the process digitally through the official mobile applications of their respective service providers.
The available platforms include IndianOil ONE for Indane customers, HP Pay for HP Gas users, and the Bharatgas mobile application, where e-KYC can be completed using biometric or face authentication, depending on the available verification option.
According to officials, the nationwide exercise is intended to identify and remove duplicate or ineligible LPG connections while ensuring that subsidy benefits are delivered only to genuine domestic consumers.
Authorities have urged consumers not to wait until the final days before the deadline and to complete the Aadhaar-based verification in advance to ensure uninterrupted access to subsidised LPG cylinders.
