Substitute Amarjit (No. 11) scored the decisive goal in the second half, securing FC Raengdai their first-ever goal and victory in the tournament.

Imphal: Football Club Raengdai (Manipur) registered a historic 1-0 victory over the Indian Navy Football Team on Thursday in their debut match of the 135th IndianOil Durand Cup Group D Imphal-leg at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

Substitute Amarjit (No. 11) scored the decisive goal in the second half, securing FC Raengdai their first-ever goal and victory in the tournament. The win also earned the Manipur club three valuable points in their opening match.

FC Raengdai will next face local giants TRAU on August 3.

Earlier, the opening Group D Imphal-leg match on July 28 between local rivals TRAU FC and NEROCA FC ended in a goalless draw, with both teams sharing a point each.

In the remaining fixtures, NEROCA FC will face the Indian Navy on August 5 at 4 pm, while TRAU will take on the Navy side on August 9.

The Imphal-leg matches will conclude on August 12 with an all-Manipur clash between NEROCA FC and FC Raengdai, giving fans another state rivalry during the group stage.

The 135th IndianOil Durand Cup is scheduled to be held from July 25 to August 23, 2026, with 24 teams divided into six groups competing across Kolkata, Ranchi, Imphal, Shillong and Guwahati.

The quarter-finals will be played on August 16 and 17 in Ranchi, Kolkata and Shillong, featuring the six group winners and the two best second-placed teams.

The semi-finals are scheduled for August 19 and 20 in Kolkata and Shillong, while the final will be held on August 23 at Kolkataโ€™s Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.
