Following the ceremonial launching of Ayushman Bharat – Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the AB-PMJAY was also launched in Kokrajhar district of Assam on Sunday amidst huge gathering of public.

The Chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary attended the launching programme at Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari, Kokrajhar and handed over the AB-PMJAY card to the beneficiaries.

In his speech, Mohilary said Ayushman Bharat- Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana will be beneficial to the poor families.

BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Niranjan Barua, BTC Principal Secretary Biren Chandra Phukan were among prominent personalities present at the programme.

AB-PMJAY aimed at providing coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family annually, and a beneficiary covered under the scheme would be allowed to avail cashless benefits from any public and private empanelled hospitals across the country.

On the occasion, the telecast by Doordarshan of central card distribution ceremony in Jharkhand by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was witnessed by more than two thousand people present in the programme.
