Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh and his Meghalaya counterpart, National People’s Party (NPP) national president Conrad K. Sangma, met on Friday, reaffirming their shared commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth in the region. The NPP is a constituent partner of the BJP-led government in Manipur.
Conrad K. Sangma, accompanied by NPP Manipur president Lorho S. Pfoze, Minister Kh. Loken Singh and other party MLAs, paid a courtesy visit to the Manipur Chief Minister’s official residence on Friday night.
Describing the interaction as cordial, Chief Minister Khemchand Singh said he warmly welcomed the delegation and that the leaders discussed key issues concerning the state.
The NPP delegation submitted a memorandum outlining the party’s aspirations and priorities. Khemchand Singh assured them that the proposals would receive prompt attention and consideration. “I am confident that we will continue to honour our shared values and common vision for sustainable development and inclusive growth,” the Manipur Chief Minister posted on his social media page.
The meeting precedes the NPP’s annual convention in Manipur and marks an important political engagement between the party’s national leadership and the state government to strengthen developmental cooperation.
Earlier in the day, Conrad K. Sangma arrived in the state on a two-day visit. After landing at Imphal Airport, he proceeded to Mantripukhri to inaugurate the new office of the NPP Manipur state unit, joined by Lorho S. Pfoze, party MLAs and office-bearers.
Expressing satisfaction, Conrad K. Sangma described the opening of the office as a major milestone in strengthening the party’s organisational structure, attributing the achievement to the tireless efforts of local members.
Following the inauguration, he chaired a closed-door meeting with the party’s MLAs and office-bearers.
