Guwahati: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has called for nationwide peaceful protests on Friday, July 24, urging students, civil society groups and local organisations to hold demonstrations across districts in solidarity with those allegedly subjected to police action during the ongoing agitation against NEET examination paper leaks.
In a poster shared on its official social media handles, the organisation appealed for coordinated protests under the slogan, “Every District. One Day. One Demand.”
The CJP said the demonstrations would be organised in solidarity with those allegedly affected by police action during the ongoing protests over examination irregularities.
The organisation urged student unions and other organisations to coordinate with one another, obtain the necessary permissions from local authorities and organise peaceful gatherings in their respective districts.
It also asked participants to publicly read out the protesters’ demands before the assembled crowd as a mark of solidarity with those allegedly affected by the police action.
According to the CJP, a detailed standard operating procedure (SOP), campaign material and a memorandum template have been uploaded on its website to assist organisers.
The nationwide protest call comes days after the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march in New Delhi witnessed clashes between protesters and police, with CJP alleging excessive use of force. Multiple FIRs were registered following the violence.
The organisation has maintained that its agitation will continue until its key demands, including action over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, are addressed.
