Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-I, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Deputy Controller of
Examinations and Deputy Secretary (Administration) in 2026.
Name of post : Deputy Controller of Examinations
No. of posts : 1
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Post Graduate degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce or equivalent degree with at least 60% marks (or its equivalent grade) from a UGC recognized University.
Essential Experience:
Experience of teaching of minimum 7 (seven) years-
a) as Post Graduate teacher in a Higher Secondary School / Senior Secondary School,
OR
b) as Assistant Professor in a College/ University,
OR
c) as Principal/ Vice Principal in a Government/ Provincialized Higher Secondary School/ Senior Secondary School out of which 2 (two) years in a post associated with administration of an educational institution like Principal/ Vice Principal of a Higher Secondary School/ Senior Secondary School or Head of a Department in a college/university, in conduct of examinations.
d) Candidate having experience of working as Assistant Controller/ Controller of Examinations in University will get an extra weightage of 5 points during the selection process.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
a) Post graduate degree in Arts/Science/Commerce having at least 60% marks (or its equivalent grade etc.) from a UGC recognized University.
OR
b) MBA or equivalent (preferably with Operations or HR specialization) with 80% marks from a UGC recognized University.
Essential Experience:
a) Teaching experience of 7 (seven) years as a Post Graduate Teacher in a Higher Secondary School / Senior Secondary School.
OR
b) Teaching experience of 7 (seven) years in the post of Assistant Professor in a College or University.
OR
c) Teaching experience of 7 (seven) years as Principal/ Vice Principal in a College having enrolment minimum 100 in each class.
OR
d)Experience of 7 (seven) years in administration/ human resource management in a Govt or Private sector organization having turnover of Rs 5 crores and above.
Salary:
Remuneration for each of the above post, will be in the scale of Rs. 30,000 -1,10,000/- + Grade Pay of Rs. 14,500/-, along with other allowances as admissible under the rules of the Board.
Age:
The candidate should not be less than 30 years and more than 44 years of age on 01.01.2026.
The upper age limit is relaxed-
i. by 5 years for SC/ STP/ STH candidates i.e. up to 49 years.
ii. by 3 years for ???/ ???C candidates i.e. up to 47 years as per Govt. Notification No. ABP.6/ 2016/ 9 dated Dispur the 25th April, 2018.
