The president of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), Promod Boro, while addressing the gathering of freshers’ social and get together of students of different colleges of Kokrajhar district of Assam as chief guest said the time for students was precious to decide their future who will run the nation tomorrow and so students must avoid wasting of time but to concentrate in their studies.

The freshers’ social was organized jointly by Kokrajhar district committee of ABSU and Kokrajhar Anchalik committee of ABSU at Science College auditorium hall in Kokrajhar on Thursday.

Boro called upon the students and individuals not to run after money but let the money to follow them after fulfilling their aims in life.

He said the students must concentrate on study in first place and writing, revision and identify their position right from the family to social and to national and overseas for achieving their goal and foundation.

He also called upon the students to stay away from using narcotics and other drug substances and restrain from excess using mobile phone which is becoming a cause of concern.

The ABSU president said the ABSU has been working for quality education in the society since 2006 through mission quality education agenda despite taking the movement for Bodoland state forward.

He said the students will go on with their studies but on the other side the workers will engage in the movement for solution of Bodoland problem.

He also said the students’ body will work for the reformation of society besides taking the quality education as prime agenda.

The open meeting of the students was chaired by the president of Kokrajhar district, ABSU, Janak Uzir and was inaugurated by the Director of UN Academy, Krishna Gopal Basumatary.

The principal of Kokrajhar Science College Dr R N Sinha also addressed the gathering.

The freshmen social day and get together programme was taken part by the students of Kokrajhar Government College, Kokrajhar Commerce College, Kokrajhar Science College, UNB College, Kokrajhar Law College, Bodoland University and Kokrajhar Music and Fine Art College.
