Haflong: Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa on Monday chaired a meeting with leaders of the disbanded Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) to review the implementation of the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) signed in 2023.
The meeting, held at the DHAC conference hall in Haflong, reviewed the progress of the peace agreement, discussed key issues and stressed the timely implementation of commitments under the settlement.
The DNLA was disbanded after 181 of its cadres laid down arms and joined the mainstream following the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Settlement with the Centre and the Assam government on October 28, 2023.
In a post on social media, Gorlosa said the successful implementation of the MoS was essential for ensuring lasting peace, stability and inclusive development in the region.
“We remain committed to working collectively with all stakeholders to fulfil the aspirations of the people and strengthen the path towards a peaceful and prosperous future,” he said.
DHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai, Executive Members Manjit Naiding, Donpainon Thaosen and Probita Johori, along with the council’s Principal Secretary and other officials, attended the meeting.
