Guwahati: Search and rescue teams recovered another body from Arunachal Pradesh‘s flood-hit Keyi Panyor district on Friday as efforts entered the fourth day to trace three missing persons.

According to the district administration’s latest monsoon situation report, the body of 30-year-old Ballari Marak, also known as Olyn Synkly, was found around noon on June 27. Local residents helped identify the deceased.

Ballari Marak was a resident of Bhoirymbong in Lumpshoping under Meghalaya‘s Ri Bhoi district. She was the daughter of the late Shangain Syngkli and Willina K. Marak.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), assisted by Keyi Panyor Police, is continuing intensive search operations at the flood-ravaged NEEPCO Colony to locate the remaining missing persons.

The three individuals yet to be traced have been identified as Elesh Marak (13), Tao Anjina (46), and Sourav Kumar.

Meanwhile, severe disruptions to road connectivity continue to hamper relief efforts across the district. The Potin-Kimin Road remains inaccessible due to recurring landslides and continuous deposition of mud and debris, despite repeated attempts to clear the route.

To facilitate restoration work and ensure commuter safety, police personnel have been stationed at vulnerable locations along the Pitapool-Potin stretch. They are assisting with traffic regulation while supporting road clearance operations.

Officials said restoration activities are being carried out on a priority basis, with emergency vehicles, essential commodities and heavy machinery being given precedence. However, progress remains dependent on weather conditions, as persistent rainfall continues to trigger fresh landslides in the affected region.
