Guwahati: The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has strongly condemned the bombing of Leilon Vaiphei village, allegedly carried out by cadres of the NSCN-IM and its proxy outfit, the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), on June 15.

In a press statement issued on Monday, KIM described the incident as a serious threat to civilian safety, alleging that the attack endangered innocent lives, damaged property and disrupted peace and security in the area.

The organisation termed attacks on civilian settlements as “unacceptable and inhuman” and expressed concern over the security situation faced by residents of Leilon Vaiphei and neighbouring areas.

KIM further questioned what it described as the continued freedom enjoyed by armed groups responsible for creating fear and instability. The organisation stated that any delay or inaction by authorities could embolden perpetrators and increase public mistrust.

Calling for immediate intervention, KIM urged the government and security agencies to identify, arrest, and prosecute those involved in the alleged attack. It also stressed the need for enhanced security measures to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of civilians.

“The safety of civilians must be treated as the highest priority,” the statement said, adding that lasting peace can only be achieved through accountability and justice.

The statement was issued by the Kuki Inpi Media Cell.

No official statement from the government or security agencies regarding the incident was available at the time of filing this report.
