Guwahati: Guwahati city police on Sunday conducted a raid at a beauty parlour and spa on Zoo Road following allegations that illegal activities were being carried out from the premises.
The operation was conducted at S&D Parlour after police received specific inputs suggesting that alleged immoral activities were taking place inside the establishment, sources said.
During the raid, police detained around nine women for questioning. Officials said the detainees were being verified and questioned as part of the investigation.
Police also recovered several items from the premises, which have been seized for examination.
Authorities have not disclosed the identities of those detained. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
Police said the probe is underway to ascertain the nature of activities allegedly being conducted from the premises and determine whether any offences have been committed.
