Guwahati: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated the examination city information slips for candidates scheduled to appear in the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, providing students with advance details of their allotted test locations ahead of the June 21 exam.
Candidates can access the city allotment information by visiting the official NEET website and logging in using their application credentials. The agency clarified that the document only informs students about the city where they will take the examination and should not be treated as the official admit card.
Announcing the development through its social media platform X, the NTA stated that admit cards will be issued separately closer to the examination date. The agency advised candidates to regularly monitor official updates regarding the release of hall tickets and other examination-related instructions.
The re-examination is being conducted following the cancellation of the earlier NEET-UG 2026 test amid allegations of question paper leaks and irregularities. The controversy triggered nationwide protests and demands for a fresh examination process, prompting authorities to order a retest.
More than 23 lakh aspirants are expected to appear for the medical entrance examination, which is scheduled to take place from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm on June 21 in offline mode. The test will be conducted at centres spread across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations.
Education officials noted that the advance release of city information allows candidates to make travel and accommodation arrangements in advance, particularly those assigned centres far from their hometowns. The measure is aimed at helping students plan their logistics and minimise last-minute difficulties before one of the country’s most competitive entrance examinations.
