Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court on Thursday did not take up the bail application of Siddharth Sharma in connection with the Zubeen Garg death case, as the bench of Justice Parthivjyoti Saikia refused to accept the case and declined to hear the bail application.
According to court proceedings, the application was not heard and was subsequently ordered to be placed before another bench after allocation by the Registrar. The court declined to proceed with the matter during the dayโs hearing.
Alongside this, the bench also did not hear a related petition concerning Mahabir Aqua. The plea had been filed by Chetan Dhiracheria, business partner of Siddharth Sharma, seeking the reopening of the company after a special fast-track court earlier ordered its seizure.
With both matters left unaddressed, court officials confirmed that the cases will now be reassigned and listed before a different bench for further hearing.
This is not the first instance where the same bench has opted not to hear applications linked to the case. Earlier, a similar bail plea filed by Shyamkanu Mahanta was also not taken up by Justice Saikiaโs court.
The proceedings are now expected to move forward only after fresh listing before an alternate bench, as per court allocation procedures.
