Dimapur: The Nagaland government on Monday appointed six members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly as Chief Minister’s advisers with immediate effect and assigned them to different departments.

The Cabinet Secretariat (Cabinet Cell), in a notification, said Kuzholuzo Nienu has been allocated the Science & Technology Department, Puthai Longon the Taxes Department, Picto Shohe the New & Renewable Energy Department, Achumbemo Kikon SCERT and Food Processing Department, Nyusietho Nyuthe NSDMA and Inland Waterways Department, and Daochier I. Imchen the Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation Departments.

The notification added that the advisers will render advice on matters referred to them by the concerned departments and provide their views and suggestions before the issues are placed before the respective ministers-in-charge for decision.

It further stated that the advisers will not be entitled to any pay, salary, emoluments, remuneration, perks, or other benefits from the state government, apart from those normally admissible to them as members of the Assembly through the Assembly Secretariat.
