National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under
accelerated research for 6G ecosystem – TTDF scheme/DoT entitled “TARANG: Design of Terahertz Wireless Communications Systems for 6G” in the Department of ECE in 2026.

Essential Qualification :
Candidates with/without valid GATE/NET and with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG for GEN/ GEN-EWS/ OBCNCL category and minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA at both UG and PG for SC/ ST/ PwD category.
OR
Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with at least CGPA of 7.5/10 or 70% of marks under GEN/ GEN-EWS/ OBC-NCL category and at least CGPA of 7.0/10 or 65% under SC/ ST/ PwD category. B.Tech/ B.E or Equivalent degree in ECE and M.Tech/ M.E in ECE or equivalent. (OR) B.Tech/ B.E or equivalent degree in ECE
Desirable Experience : A solid understanding of digital communication, probability theory,
optimization, and wireless communications is crucial. Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB or Python
Salary : INR. 37,000/-+HRA (with and without GATE/NET). JRF will promoted to SRF after successful completion of two years.
