Guwahati: Security forces arrested four alleged militants linked to different insurgent outfits during separate operations carried out across Manipur on May 24 and 25, officials said.
During an operation on May 24, two active members of the NRFM were taken into custody from Pangei Nepali Basti in Imphal East district. The arrested individuals were identified as Moirangthem Samson Meitei (28), alias Tonsana, originally from Moirang Thamnapokpi Mamang Leikai in Bishnupur district and currently residing at Pangei Nepali Basti and Chanambam Nabakumar Meetei (22), alias Ebungo, a resident of Haotak Tampha Khunou Awang Leikai in Bishnupur district.
Authorities said two mobile phones were seized from the duo during the operation.
In a separate crackdown on May 25, security personnel apprehended an active cadre of the KCP (PWG), identified as Md. Satibur Rahaman alias Boyai (34), from Khabeisoi Sabal Leikai under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district. Officials recovered one mobile handset from his possession.
On the same day, another operation led to the arrest of an active KYKL cadre, identified as Oinam Shelung Singh alias Amuton alias Naoba (30), from Seijang Awang Leikai under Yaingangpokpi Police Station in Imphal East district.
Officials said investigations into all the cases are currently in progress.
