Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with the students of Dibrugarh via video-conferencing while launching the “Swachhata Hi Seva campaign” from New Delhi.

The venue of the interaction programne was the Ouphulia High School playground in Rajgarh area which was among the 18 locations of the country chosen by PM Modi for the interaction programme.

On behalf of the students, Jitumoni Taye, a class 12 student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Moran described the transformation brought by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to Ouphulia village. She told the visibly impressed Prime Minister how the students and local villagers of the area including the women had joined hands in making Ouphulia village the cleanest and most beautiful village in Dibrugarh district. She said school students have participated in the cleanliness drive to make the village clean in every aspect.

Addressing the students, Prime Minister Modi said the way the youngsters have involved themselves in implementing the Swachh Bharat Mission was commendable beyond description. Appreciating the work of the people in developing Ouphulia village as a model village, the PM said that the youths were the catalyst of change in India, and when youth power is involved in any positive work the success attained is manifold.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in every village schools toilets have been set up because of the involvement of the youth to make the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan successful. “If the youth decided to bring change in the society then definitely change will happen in the society,” PM Modi said.
