Dimapur: Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Jitan Ram Manjhi reviewed developmental schemes with officials from various departments of Nagalandโ€™s Longleng district at the Chumoukedima Police Complex on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Manjhi assessed developmental activities and discussed the implementation status of various Government of India schemes and programmes in the district.

Officials from different departments presented reports and briefed the minister and the visiting central team on ongoing projects, achievements, challenges, and areas requiring further support and coordination.

Addressing the meeting, which was chaired by Longleng Deputy Commissioner W Manpai Phom, Manjhi emphasised the importance of effective implementation of MSME-related initiatives. He urged officials to work collectively for the welfare and economic development of the people of the district.

The review meeting was conducted as per the directives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to assess ground realities and developmental needs of the district.

The visiting central team said all findings, feedback, and reports gathered during the visit would be compiled and submitted to the Prime Ministerโ€™s Office (PMO) and the concerned Union ministries for necessary action.

Longleng MLA A Pongshi Phom expressed gratitude to the visiting central delegation. He said the meeting would have a positive impact on the lives of the people and further strengthen developmental initiatives in the district.

The meeting laid special emphasis on the National Oil Palm Mission, with the visiting team inquiring about the progress of plantation activities and the benefits being extended to farmers and local communities.

Later in the day, the minister held a review meeting with state officers of the National Small Industries Corporation, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Coir Board, and MSME-DFO under the Ministry of MSME at the Police Guest House.
