Guwahati: The ongoing survey process for the proposed satellite township project at Sindhisar and Naladhara village in Assam’s Jagiroad has been cancelled by the Morigaon district administration with immediate effect due to concerns expressed by a number of organizations.

The study was being carried out to create plans for rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) in connection with the proposed suburban township project, according to a public notice published by Morigaon district commissioner Anamika Tewari.

According to the administration, the decision to stop the survey was made after considering the objections and concerns raised by various parties about the proposed project.

Additionally, copies of the notification were sent to the District Information and Public Relations Officer, the Sub-Divisional Commissioner of Jagiroad, and the Circle Officer of Morigaon Revenue Circle for further public distribution and appropriate action.
