Dimapur: Kohima Police seized 302 grams of heroin and six kilograms of opium in two separate anti-drug operations and arrested four persons, including a woman, officials said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by Kohima Police PRO, a mobile patrol unit under Khuzama police station intercepted a Maruti Alto (NL07 CD 5992) travelling from Kidima towards Viswema on May 5.

During the search of the vehicle, police recovered 25 soap cases containing heroin, locally referred to as โ€œshan flowerโ€, weighing around 302 grams.

The two occupants of the vehicle, identified as Kharamo Aziah (28) and AL Keystone (39), were arrested in connection with the seizure.

In another operation on May 12, a mobile unit of Kohima Police under Kezocha police station intercepted a Mahindra Bolero (AS 03X 1718) travelling from Mao in Manipur towards Kohima.

During the search, police recovered six packets of opium weighing approximately six kilograms.

The occupants of the vehicle, identified as Mohan Chhetry and R Chaonai, were arrested.

Police said separate cases have been registered at Khuzama and Kezocha police stations, and further investigation is underway to trace the wider network linked to the drug trafficking operations.
