The 18th Regional Operations Meet of Eastern Region – II Projects of NTPC Ltd was organized this time at Bongaigaon Project of Assam.

This was the first time the meet was held at Bongaigaon project.

Regional executive director of NTPC, Eastern Region-II, M P Sinha; executive director (operation system), C V Anand; general manager (operation sytem of Eastern Region – II),  B B Tripathy and general manager (CC OS), M Ramakrishna; chief general manager, NTPC Bongaigaon, Dipankar Bose  were also present along with senior officials of NTPC Bongaigaon.

In the meet, Tiwari discussed various important issues on safety, plant efficiency, fuel management, ash dyke and ash utilization, among others.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) targets and station issues were also discussed at length during this meet.

Prakash Tiwari also inaugurated the plant canteen at Salakati.

Earlier, in conjunction with the meet under the aegis of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Pathao Abhiyaan’ of CSR and in association of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, a distribution programme of ladies bicycles for girl students was organized on September 10.

Seema Tiwari, senior member, Sanyukta Ladies Club graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The beneficiary students were from the villages – Kathalguri, Saharpur, Dholmaar NC Hills and Sijani.

A free sewing and tailoring training classes centre was also inaugurated by Sima Tiwari.

Speaking on the occasion, president of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, Keya Bose said that this centre will provide free training to underprivileged women and will help them to become empowered to earn their own living.

A total of 28 participants have currently been enrolled in the training centre.
