Guwahati: The Arunachal Pradesh government has undertaken a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring several senior IAS and IRS officers and assigning new key portfolios and additional duties with immediate effect.
In addition to his present duties, IRS officer Sonam Chombay has been assigned the additional responsibility of Commissioner (Planning), under an order issued by the Department of Personnel on May 9.
Chombay has been given the responsibilities of Power (Electrical) and Land Management in addition to his current roles as Commissioner to the Chief Minister and Commissioner for Hydropower. He also got relieved of the charge of Geology and Mining.
The Geology and Mining department has been given to A.K. Singh as an additional charge.
Senior IAS officer Amjad Tak, presently serving as Resident Commissioner and Divisional Commissioner (Central), has been appointed as Commissioner for Education and Public Health Engineering (PHE) in addition to his current duties.
In the meantime, IAS officer Duly Kamduk, who formerly held the position of Secretary for Education and SPD (ISSE), has been relieved of the Education portfolio by being assigned to the Rural Works Department (RWD).
Currently serving as Secretary of the Department of Karmik and Administrative Affairs (DoKAA), Karma Leki has been assigned additional responsibility for Protocol and SA/GA/DA. After Shri Komkar Dulom’s superannuation on May 31, 2026, the agreement will take effect.
In addition to his existing position as the Chief Secretary’s official on Special Duty (OSD), another IAS official, Vivek HP, has been posted to the Health department.
In the interest of public service, Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta issued the reshuffle order, which was distributed to all relevant departments and personnel for immediate execution.
