All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Guwahati Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Counsellor at Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) in 2026.

Qualification : Graduate in Psychology/ Social Work
Desirable: Masters in above disciplines
Salary : Rs. 20,000/- per month
Age : Minimum 21 years and maximum 35 years
Job Roles :
1. Assisting the Senior resident/Specialist medical officerin assessment and diagnosis of patients
2. Providing initial counselling and Motivation Enhancement to the patients
3. Ensuring follow-up with patients
4. Ensuring regular one-to-one psychosocial sessions as well as group sessions with patients and family members
5. Undertake field visits, if required providing referral services to the patients – including referral for other health conditions, other social needs, as well as referral to the higher center for management of complex cases of substance use disorders.
6. Liaise with other departments of the hospital to enhance referrals to the ATF
7. Conducting awareness activities in the community (to enhance help-seeking)
8. Establishing linkages with the NGOs working in the community {to enhance help seeking)
9. Registering new and follow-up patients
10. Making clinical file for all new patients
11. Ensuring that records are maintained as prescribed under the scheme
12. Preparing monthly reports under supervision of other staff of ATF
13. Assisting in maintaining stock records with nursing staff
14. Assisting in account maintenance under the guidance of the ATF staff as well as account Personnel of the hospital
15. Registering new and follow-up patients
16. Making clinical file for all new patients
18. Ensuring that records are maintained as prescribed under the scheme
19. Preparing monthly reports under supervision of other staff of ATF
20. Assisting in maintaining stock records with nursing staff
21. Assisting in account maintenance under the guidance of the ATF staff as well as account Personnel of the hospital
22. Any other duty assigned by the Nodal Officer.
