Raja Raghuvanshi murder case
Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, has been granted bail by a Shillong court after her fourth hearing.

Guwahati: A local court in Shillong on Tuesday (April 28) granted bail to Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, a transport businessman from Indore.

Indore resident Sonam Raghuvanshi was allegedly killed by her wife Sonam with three other accomplices during their honeymoon at Meghalaya in 2025.

Sonam, who had been in a Shillong jail for several months, secured bail during the fourth hearing of the case which was confirmed by the victimโ€™s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi.

The case, which has drawn significant attention in Madhya Pradesh, relates to the alleged murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, with his wife named as the main accused.

According to the sources, Sonamโ€™s bail pleas had previously been rejected three times by the court. In contrast, the other accused in the case – Lokendra Singh Tomar, Balbir Ahirwar, and Shilom James had already been granted bail earlier.

However, the court has now approved Sonamโ€™s application and another accused, Raj Kushwaha, continues to remain in judicial custody.

Family members of the deceased have expressed disappointment over the decision, describing it as a setback in their fight for justice
