New Bodo feature film ‘Onnai’, a story of love and sacrifice produced by RB Film Productions, Kokrajhar which was released on Sunday through a grand premier show at Rupnath Brahma field at Ramfalbil in Assam’s Kokrajhar district is drawing huge crowd.

The third film of RB Film Productions is the first Bodo film to have the new fighting art of south Indian films with the help of action director from south India.

The new film, was formally released by MLA of Kokrajhar West, Rabiram Narzary in presence of MCLA, BTC, Jatirindra Brahma and Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police, Rajen Singh.

A stage performance was also held before the grand opening ceremony where a good number of young artistes presented various cultural items.

The film which was produced by Riya Brahma under RB Film Productions has been directed by Raja Narzary and the script was written by Pankosh Lahary of Baksa.

The actors of the film include Lingsar, Fuji, Riya, Winkle, Thaklai, Rajashree, Akalabya, Pwjakhang, Kamleswar and others.

In his inaugural speech, MLA Rabiram Narzary said Bodo films had reached to a new height as the RB Film Productions has brought another film with modern art and techniques that could attract the people.

He also said the region had witnessed a new revolution of Bodo films where lots of young artistes are coming up with different talents.

Narzary said the cinema and culture are the mirror of a society which reflects the socio-cultural tradition of a society.

He said the Bodo film producers had a field day but the lack of cinema halls are becoming a matter of concern.

Lots of films are being produced annually but there is no cinema hall which is discouraging the producers, he said, adding that steps should be taken to develop infrastructures so that artistes can take movie making as their profession.
