Polling for all 126 assembly constituencies was conducted in a single phase. While the morning saw steady voter activity, participation increased notably in the afternoon, particularly in lower and central Assam districts.

Several districts recorded particularly high turnout. Barpeta led with 91.92%, followed by Bongaigaon at 91.77%. Bajali recorded 86.89%, Biswanath 83.76%, while Baksa and Charaideo reported 82.51% and 82.91%, respectively. Cachar recorded 82.19% voter participation.

Both the current state administration and opposition parties were actively engaged in campaigning ahead of the polls.

Election officials noted that the final turnout may rise, as voters who were in line at the closing hour were allowed to vote.

With polling completed, attention turns to the counting of votes, scheduled for May 4, which will decide the next government in Assam.
