Guwahati: A 22-year-old woman from Nagaland was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Linsula, was found hanging at her rented accommodation in Aravindnagar in Chikkamagaluru city. According to police, She had been working at a resort in the district.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Linsula had spoken to a person identified as Kivishe Kinimi for nearly half an hour prior to the incident. Police also recovered a diary from her room in which she had mentioned two individuals, Rajesh and Tejas.

A complaint has been lodged at the Basavanahalli police station by Lashila Imchunger, who is associated with the deceased, alleging that Rajesh and Tejas had been harassing her.

According to police sources, Linsula had recorded in her diary that the two men had subjected her to both physical and mental harassment under the pretext of a relationship. Despite these alleged pressures, she continued to work supporting her parents and managing household needs.

The diary has been taken into custody as part of the investigation, and her family in Nagaland has been informed. Police said further inquiries are under way to ascertain the circumstances leading to her death.
