Guwahati: Students from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Tezpur University have brought laurels to Assam after securing national honours at the National Youth Festival organised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), held recently in Chennai.
After qualifying through the zonal rounds, Rahul Rohan Paul won second prize in English Debate and second prize in Hindi Elocution, showcasing his oratory skills and intellectual depth at the national level.
In another notable achievement, Shashank Buragohain secured the third prize in Western Instrumental Solo, standing out among participants from universities across the country.
The debating team representing Tezpur University comprised Rahul Rohan Paul from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism and Manash Pratim Dutta from the School of Management Sciences. Their performance reflected the universityโs strong emphasis on academic engagement and co-curricular excellence.
The achievement is particularly significant as Tezpur University participated in only these events at the festival and secured national honours in each of them.
