Arunachal Pradesh rescue drills
Held across the remote frontier regions of the Eastern Himalayas, the intensive training took place at altitudes exceeding 14,000 feet.

Dibrugarh: Troops of Gajraj Corps conducted specialised avalanche safety and rescue drills in Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with expert trainers from the Tiranga Mountain Rescue Team (TMR), enhancing operational preparedness in high-altitude areas.

Held across the remote frontier regions of the Eastern Himalayas, the training took place at altitudes exceeding 14,000 feet.

The programme focused on avalanche risk assessment, rapid response protocols, casualty location and extraction techniques, snow survival strategies, and critical decision-making under extreme weather and terrain conditions.

The immersive drills simulated real-world emergencies at high altitudes, enabling troops to improve crisis response efficiency and strengthen life-saving skills.

Emphasis was placed on coordinated team manoeuvres, use of specialised rescue equipment, and maintaining operational sustainability in snow-bound and avalanche-prone sectors.

The exercise aimed to improve response times and survival techniques for missions conducted in mountainous environments.
