Tocklai Tea Research Institute Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of two Project Associate-I under the National Innovation Foundation (NIF) – India (Autonomous Institute of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt of Assam) sponsored project entitled “Evaluation and baseline data generation of botanical leads developed by the National Innovation Foundation (NIF) against major pests and diseases of tea plantations, along with CIBRC bio-efficacy data generation, for label extension for tea” (Project code: NIF/VARD-Agri/2026/155394)
Name of post : Project Associate-I (Entomology)
No. of posts : 1
Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Life Science with specialization in Entomology/ Agricultural Entomology/ Zoology from a recognized university or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
1. Research Experience in Tea Entomology or related disciplines.
2. Advance knowledge on the application of AI, Machine Learning, Experience of insect collection and laboratory rearing and working in molecular biology, handling advance
statistical software and sophisticated laboratory instruments, writing high quality independent research
Fellowship : Rs. 31,000/-+ 8% HRA per month
Upper Age Limit : 35 years (Age relaxation will be provided as per the DST guidelines).

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Life Science/ Botany/ Agriculture with Plant
Pathology or Mycology/ Microbiology from a recognized university or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
1. Research Experience in Tea Disease management or related fields.
- 2. Advance knowledge on the application of AI, Machine Learning, experience of disease
monitoring, sample collection and working in molecular biology, handling advanced statistical software and sophisticated laboratory instruments, writing high quality independent research paper.
Fellowship : Rs. 31,000/-+ 8% HRA per month
Upper Age Limit : 35 years (Age relaxation will be provided as per the DST guidelines).
