Arunachal jewellery burglary
Sadikul Islam (26) of Assam's Lakhimpur was arrested by Arunachal Pradesh Police for a Rs 3.5 crore jewellery burglary on Friday night.

North Lakhimpur: Police have arrested a man from Laluk in Assam’s Lakhimpur in connection with the burglary of jewellery worth several crores in Arunachal Pradesh, in a major crackdown against interstate crime.

Sadikul Islam (26), son of Zubber and a resident of Laluk, Lakhimpur district, was arrested by a team of Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) on Friday night in connection with a high-profile burglary of traditional jewellery valued at Rs 3.5 crore.

Stolen property worth approximately Rs 3 crore has also been recovered from the accused.

The burglary occurred on the night of December 26–27, 2025, at the residence of Tana Jesy Tara in Amba Village under Doimukh Police Station in Papum Pare district.

The APP has been investigating the case under DMK PS Case No. 174/25, Section 305(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), led by SDPO Radhe Obing, SI M.A. Nur Alom, and ASI T.D. Goiba, under the supervision of SP Gusar, in cooperation with Laluk Police Station.

Police have also issued lookout notices for two more suspects in connection with the case.
