Assam Police recovered ganjas weighing 2.2 quintals worth several lakhs of rupees from a vehicle near Narayanpur in Lakhimpur district on Wednesday morning.

The narcotics were found in a Tata Ace vehicle bearing registration number AS O7 AC 5756 on Bhogpr-Durpang road.

Acting on tip-off a team of police from Narayanpur Police Station led by inspector Deena Nath Mili conducted an operation on that road and seized seven bags of ganja from the vehicle. Three persons were also arrested in this connection.

The arrested persons have been identified as Rajeev Duwarah, Diganta Saikia and Mantu Borah.  According to the police the value of seized ganjas may be Rs. 1.5 lakh.
