The Udalguri district committee of All Bodo Students’Union (ABSU) on Friday organized a shraddhanjali programme to pay tribute to former Prime Minister of India, Atal Behari Vajpayee.

The programe was organized at Bishnu Rabha Kristi Sangha premises at Udalguri town for the former Prime Minister who breathed his last at New Delhi on Thursday at the age of 93.

The programme started with the national tricolor at half mast followed by floral tributes to the portait of the veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader.

President of Udalguri, ABSU, Ratendra Daimari  anchored the programme including the condolence meet which was attended by citizens from all walks of life.

Noted personalities including Vice principal of Udalguri HS school,Nabin Malla Boro ; Principal of Udalguri College,Dr. Luke Daimari; Former deputy chief of erstwhile Bodoland Autonomous Council(BAC) and General Secretary of United People’s Party (Liberal),Prodeep Kumar Daiamri; Former vice president of Assam State Committee of BJP, Sarat Basumatari; Vice president of ABSU Central Committee, Dipen Boro and senior journalist of Udalguri, Rewati Raman Sapkota mourned the death of the veteran leader and spoke on the life and activities of Vajpayee and also recited some of his poems.
