Altogether 15 police personnel in Manipur have been selected for Police Medals for Meritorious Service 2017 and Presidents’ Police Medals for Distinguished Service.
The medals for Meritorious Services and Distinguished Services will be given away at the Independence Day celebration on August 15, Superintendent of Police (NAB) W Basu Singh who is the public relations officer of Manipur police department said.
Inspector Rk Tejbir and inspector Shyamchoron Singh Asem will be conferred the Presidents’ Police Medals for Distinguished Service.
Moreover, 13 police personnel have been selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service 2017.They are Deputy Inspector General IK Muivah of Manipur police department, Deputy Commandant Th Bijananda Singh, Assistant Commandant A Basanta Sharma, Inspector Pamreingam Longpinao, Inspector Chabungbam Subol Singh, Inspector Nongthombam Ingocha Singh, Head Constable Y Roshankumar Singh, Havildar Md Rashid AH, Havildar S Sanatomba Singh, Havildar Md Anuwar Shah, Rifleman T Abhiram Singh, Rifleman Md Kayamuddin and Rifleman L Miralkumar Singh.
Two more police officers namely additional SP Laishram Priyadarshini and Subedar Md Riyajuddin will also given medal for excellence in police training 2015-16.
Meanwhile security has been beefed up in the state in view of the Independence Day celebration on August 15. Regular search operations in and around the district headquarters of Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur districts are being carried out to avert any untoward incident.
