Assam University, Silchar took another step in advancing its collaboration with other universities worldwide when it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a leading private university in Dhaka, the Daffodil International University, on Thursday evening.
The MoU was signed in Dhaka in presence of Assam University, Silchar’s Vice Chancellor, Dr Dilip Chandra Nath and Pro Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, Prof SM Mehbub Ul Haque Mazumder.
Daffodil International University, a private institution with 30,000 students, has collaborations with many other universities all across the globe.
The signing of MoU by Assam University, Silchar with Daffodil International University will help in teacher exchange and student exchange programmes, internship programme, joint conferences and above all, exchanging of ideas and thoughts in the field of research, felt Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Silchar, Dr Dilip Chandra Nath.
It may be mentioned that after taking charge as by Dr Dilip Chandra Nath as Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Silchar two years back, signing of MoUs with other universities outside India has taken a quantum leap for advancements in teaching as well as research.
MoU has also been signed with Japan’s two universities, Gifu University and Shizuoka University, Thailand’s Mahachulalongornraja Vidyalaya University in Bangkok, Indonesia’s University of Indonesia and Bangladesh’s Shahjalal University of Science and Tecnology, situated at Sylhet, in the past two years.
Dr Dilip Chandra Nath after signing this MoU with Daffodil International University based at Dhaka, while expressing satisfaction, said, “Collaborating with these top notch universities can take Assam University, Silchar in the right direction. Times have changed, and so also the need of the hour is to share thoughts and ideas which can be beneficial for students as well as teachers of both sides.”
He added, “Students and researchers of our universities can go there and garner knowledge and learn new things, likewise, their counterparts too from those universities can come here and get enlightened.”
